Lawnmowers

Petrol, mains-powered, battery mowers and robots. The size of the plot sets the cutting width and the type of power; slope and obstacles matter as much as the square metres. Weight to push and noise level are hard to judge from a spec sheet, yet they are what you put up with at every mow.

Choose by use

The right product depends on the situation. Each page below takes the category’s criteria and changes their weight for one specific need.

What we rate in this category

Every product in the category is rated from 0 to 100 on these criteria — the same for all of them, whichever merchant sells it.

Price
Where the product sits against the others in its category, at comparable specifications, on the market being browsed. The longer the bar, the better placed the product is on price.
Cutting power
Ability to cut tall or wet grass without struggling, tied to the cutting width and the motor.
Area per charge
Area mown on a single battery charge, measured on flat ground.
Sturdiness
How well the deck and moving parts stand up to several seasons of use.

Price brackets by tier

Orders of magnitude, not displayed prices: a price only appears on Kalyneo once it has been collected from a merchant, with its collection date.

Under €250

Small plots, narrow cutting width, corded electric motor. The cable limits the reach.

€250 to €700

The most common bracket: a removable battery, medium cutting width, a decent grass box.

Over €700

Large plots, self-propelled, petrol or robots. The difference lies in endurance and terrain, not in cut quality.

No price collected yet

Kalyneo only shows a price once it has been collected automatically from the merchant, with the date it was collected; no price is ever entered by hand. The rating criteria, the price brackets and the buying guides are already online.
