Glossary
The units and terms that appear on spec sheets, explained in one sentence. The same definitions as the tooltips on product pages.
Battery life
Usage time measured under mixed conditions.
Camera
Photo quality score in daylight and at night, out of 100.
dB (decibel)
The noise level. Below 40 dB, an appliance is discreet in a kitchen.
Hz (hertz)
The number of images displayed per second. The higher the number, the smoother movement looks. 60 Hz is plenty; 120 Hz is a comfort.
IPS screen
A type of screen whose colours stay accurate even when viewed from the side. It’s a good sign.
Price
The lowest price recorded at our retailers in the last 24 hours. The longer the bar, the better the deal.
Screen
Overall score: sharpness, brightness, colour accuracy.
Speed
A score computed from standard speed tests, scaled to 100.
SSD
Storage space, in its fast form. 512 GB holds roughly 100,000 photos.
Sturdiness
Resistance to drops and water, plus how easy it is to repair.
Wh (watt-hour)
The size of the battery’s tank. The bigger it is, the longer the device runs without being plugged in.
