Fridges

Usable capacity, noise level and energy class. This is one of the appliances people keep longest: a gap in consumption is paid over its whole life, and the noise is heard every evening in an open-plan kitchen. Measure the space (height, width, depth, doorways and the room the doors need to open) before comparing anything else.

Choose by use

The right product depends on the situation. Each page below takes the category’s criteria and changes their weight for one specific need.

Every product in the category is rated from 0 to 100 on these criteria — the same for all of them, whichever merchant sells it.

Electricity used over a year, in kWh. The longer the bar, the more economical the appliance.
Quietness and durability
Noise level in operation and the expected lifespan of the components.

Price brackets by tier

Orders of magnitude, not displayed prices: a price only appears on Kalyneo once it has been collected from a merchant, with its collection date.

Under €600

Smaller capacities, often in a low energy class. Fine for one or two people.

€600 to €900

The most rational bracket: fan-assisted cooling, a good energy class, contained noise level.

Over €900

Large capacities, double doors, dispensers. Useful above four people, oversized below that.
