Hobs

The heating type shapes how you cook. Induction responds quickly, is easy to clean and uses little energy, but needs suitable pans and a sufficient electrical connection. Ceramic hobs heat up and cool down more slowly; gas remains popular for the visual control of the flame. Width, burner layout and flexible zones matter more than the number of power levels, which are rarely all used.
