What the Imou Ranger Dual 6MP IP security camera Indoor 2304 x 1296 pixels Desk is worth

The Imou Ranger Dual 6MP is an indoor IP security camera equipped with two 3 MP CMOS sensors, recording at 2304 x 1296 pixels and 15 frames per second. It combines motorised PTZ control (355° pan, 90° tilt) with automatic target tracking, human detection and pet detection.

Its measurements place it in the market average: 3 MP resolution (median 4 MP), 15 m night vision (median 30 m) and 15 fps fluidity (median 30 fps) earn moderate scores. It compensates with very low 5.65 W power consumption (83/100) and two-way audio with built-in speaker and microphone.

Storage relies on microSD cards up to 256 GB, using H.264 or H.265 compression. Connected via Wi-Fi 4 or Fast Ethernet, it supports remote control through Android or iOS. Supplied with mounting kit, screws and USB cable, it suits smaller indoor spaces where limited night range and frame rate are acceptable.

Who this model suits

It’s for you if

Your first criterion is the power consumption: it happens to be its best score.

You want a good score on the night vision, above its category average.

You prefer a model tracked across several merchants, to buy at the right time.

Skip it if

Its lowest score is on the smoothness: skip it if that is decisive for you.

Frequently asked questions

Answers drawn from this model’s datasheet.

The Ranger Dual 6MP features two lenses with two 1/2.8" CMOS sensors. Combined, they offer 2304 x 1296 pixel resolution and a 101° diagonal angle. Automatic tracking follows detected movements between the two fields of view.

No, 15 m represents limited range. The market median is 30 m, twice as much. This distance suits monitoring a medium-sized indoor room but remains barely adequate for covering a large space in darkness.

Yes, the camera includes a MicroSD card reader supporting up to 256 GB maximum. You can record locally without recurring fees. It streams in H.264 or H.265 at 15 frames per second.
